I received this book from Amazon yesterday and read a few chapters. It is extremely well-written and discussed some issues which have recently re-surfaced. Specifically, how can white people such as myself own up the role that white racists have played in the exploitation and persecution of African-Americans and other minorities, while not playing into the extreme theories propounded by Critical Race Theorists like Derrick Bell and others? These academic gurus resist acknowledgment that whites alone are not totally responsible for the plight of many minorities.

And on the topic of minorities, it is my belief that the individual is the smallest, and most important minority of all. Mr. Steele appears to share that belief, at least in the chapters that I read.

Why is that? I keep an older laptop in my bedroom so I don't have to shlep my new laptop upstairs. Then old laptop is really short on RAM. I run Firefox on it instead of Safari because it seems to use less RAM. And with Firefox, I can post to Vox.

Monster at Central Perk: Sue had just rearranged some of the toys she and her husband have collected, which they show at Central Perk Cafe in El Cerrito, California. She was demonstrating this fine fellow and his ability to talk.

Is anyone out there old enough to remember Kukla, Fran, and Ollie, on TV in the '50's? Ollie was a dragon. This guy is an alien I think.
